This is a group that is sending care packages to the troops and think they can get out 70,000 by the holidays.

VAN NUYS, CA - During the last weekend before the Presidential Election, Operation Gratitude will continue its Holiday Drive to send 70,000 care packages to troops deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan and on ships in the Persian Gulf. The non-profit organization expects more than 1,000 volunteers to gather at the National Guard Armory in Van Nuys, CA on November 1 and 2 to assemble and ship 1500 care packages per hour.

WHAT: Operation Gratitude 2008 Holiday Drive

WHEN: November 1-2, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily

WHERE:

California Army National Guard Armory

Van Nuys, CA 91406
(Corner of Victory and Louise)

Additonal Packing Events will take place at the Armory on the following dates:

November 15-16
November 28-29 (Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving)
December 13-14 (milestone 400,000th package celebration on Dec. 13)

MEDIA ARE INVITED TO STAY FOR LUNCH FROM 12-1pm ON ALL PACKING EVENT DAYS
