Greetings all,

I would like to announce the creation of a new board within the Military.com Forums.

This new board is called "AA's Vigilant Vets Forum" and it can be found within our Health & Fitness section. Here is a direct link:
http://forums.military.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/3050096312001

This board is intended to provide a support and networking resource to those who are in recovery and to the friends and families that are also affected by substance abuse.

So if you are struggling with an addiction or working in a program, please know that you're not alone. Or if you are a family member (or friend) who would like information and support, you are welcome to join us as well. So come and see the new board and share your experiences, strength and hope.

Respectfully,

-Rob

Rob,
Grand idea, but some of us have problems that a new board won't help. We can't just open up and tell the story without being marked as some kinda monster. My duties, performance, and completions are something thats mine. I am a Drunk and have been for years. There is no program for me and alot of others.

Got money for everything but "VETERANS" Same old story!

Applause Great idea! One of the mods on the family site has this quote I'd like to add (paraphrased, but close)--

"Every sinner has a future, every saint has a past."

That's the quote I use in my signature line for my Yahoo account! Have a plague here at home with that on it as well.

Personally, I never abuse substance's. They have done so for me over the years. I intend to keep my relationship with them on a personal level! Big Grin

Keep smiling, everyone will wonder what you've been up to!

Dansmom, I don't mind at all. I didn't come up with the quote. Wink I found the plaque with the quote in a little shop in NM and had to have it. I just really loved that saying.

Great idea. Kudos to whoever came up with it.

Really cool...

Timely too because I quit drinking a little over 4 months ago after a lifetime (20 years actually) of heavy drinking and occasional binge drinking.
