Can a Congressman get someone back in the military.

It depends on what the issue is. The answer to your question is YES and NO. A President can get someone in the Military with a Presidential waiver. Most if not all Army regulations are waiverable by the President for example. |

I wanted to get their help with getting my re code changed. Along with the characterization of discharge. I sent some info to the Naval Board of Corrections. And give it to the Senator and Congressman.

greywolfghost,
I don't know about you, but with the OP's postings of the same/similar topic, I'm getting confused. It's like I'm reading the same thing over again. One thing about contacting a congressman or woman, regardless of the issue. These days, if you aren't in their district, you're out of luck. I remember the old days, when you could talk to any congressman who seemed intersted in your issue.
It just boggles my mind that, if I have an issue I believe pertains to national security, I still can only talk to the one from my district. What if the one from my district is a loser? Why should "national security" be a district issue? On the issue of changing the characterization of a discharge, don't the various branches of the military provide very specific guidance on doing that? |

witko. Looser or not, he/she works for you and you have every right to let them know. You can only email the reps from your own district. As far as the rest are concerned, they all have fax numbers and you have the right to let them know how you feel too.
I live in Florida but am originally from PA. I sent Sen Specter (PA Senator) a fax telling him that I was ashamed that he represented my home state. This was right after he was making such a fuss over the NE Patriot issue about filming games. I basically told him (BTW along with a lot of other folks too) that he had more important issues to solve then the NE Patriots. He stopped too. There's a link for finding all the Senators and Congress members too. I'll find it and send it through the message center if you like. |
