I have not seen the movie but after reading about the movie it brought back memories of my teeage years back in the 70s where abortion was not seen as taking of life only the removal of cells and tissue that have not yet formed into human life. At least that was what was explained to me at the clinic. I was told that I could have an abortion. At my young age (16)I believed what I was told. So went ahead and had it done. Afterwards a sense of guilt entered my soul and my inner spirit felt dampened. Later the laws changed and the knowledge of what I had done sadden my heart. When I got married and got pregnant at 7 months I miscarried and went into a deep depression because I felt that I was being punished for what I had done years before. If I had someone to tell me the truth and explain to me about I was about to do I would have never done it. So I am greatful that young woman of today are being given the truth of what they are about to do. So that is my view and input on the subject.

I think that this article was the worst article i have ever seen. Its funny how everyone says that the men and women of the armed forces fight for our freedoms yet the ones that no one lets us have is our Freedom of Speech and opinion. She put out a movie so what i havent seen it but i've heard that its a good movie, why does anyone have to not only cut her down for it but dig up enough dirt on her to try and destroy her reputation. I think that the writers of this article should take a good long hard look at their lives and let those who are free of sin cast the first stones. There isnt a single person in this world who hasn't done something that they are not proud of, life is a learning enviornment so deal and leave her alone.

While reading this I kept referring to the title line to make sure I was at 'Military.com'. Surely, I thought, this is going to refer to military stuff at some point!
Who was the idiot that made the final decision to put this article in my favorite website?

While I recognize that this is a very valid topic for discussion in our society...... NOT HERE!!!!!

Are you serious? This article makes me mad for several reasons. First of all, I'm wondering if the people who wrote this actually watched the movie Juno. They're talking about how other campaigners believe that "Single motherhood, for the average teenage girl, is just about the least glamorous thing you can possibly imagine..etc" when, in the movie Juno does not raise the child on her own, she gives it up for adoption. The article goes on to say that "Some have the babies as part of their path to what they see as adulthood, but they often put their education on hold, and it makes life a lot tougher" but in the movie she does not put her education on hold either! She continues to go to school and sure, being pregnant makes it a little tougher, but she's able to still educate herself and do the right thing at the same time. The article also says that the movie "does middle-class Juno reflect the majority of teenage mothers, who come from poor families". What does that have to do with the movie at all? Whether your wealthy, poor, or anywhere in the middle, you're still just as able to have the baby and give it up for adoption. There are so many places that will help people who can't afford medical bills, all you have to do is look around. I hate reading about people who think that abortion is the right answer when it is clear that it is morally wrong. A lot of people choose the "abortion way" simply because they want the easy way out of the situation. They made a mistake and they just want it to go away; well I'm sorry to say, but you're wrong! Most poeple that choose to have abortions do not get properly educated on all of the consequences of having one. There are so many more side-effects then just infection, heavy or persistent bleeding, damage to cervix and other organs....but do they know that infertilization and death can also be an outcome? But there are also emotional side effects like depression, recurring nightmares, preoccupation with aborted child, etc..

A study was conducted by Dr. Anne Speckhard at the University of Minnesota. She concluded, "After 5-10 years 54% of mothers choosing abortion had nightmares, 81% had preoccupation with their aborted child, 35% had perceived visitations with their child, and 96% felt they had taken a human life." - www.abortion.net

Then, second of all, why do the writers of this article care that Diablo Cody (Brook Busey) used to be a stripper or a phone sex operator? What does that have to do with her writing a movie about a teenager getting pregnant and deciding to have the child? Then, the writers of this article go on to say that "Most women become sex workers through making poor choices, being pregnant teenagers...etc". You cannot tie Diablo's past stipper life into this movie. Try and prove to me that the majority of strippers or 'sex workers' had this type of life as a teenager. It's bogus.

Dear Young Lady of the story "Juno,"

Do not let the world make you feel guilty about saving a human life! That is the right thing to do! Got it! God/Jesus blesses those who do the right thing, no matter how much opposition you get for it. I "Praise the Lord Jesus!" You had the courage to do the right thing and let the baby live. You also did the right thing to give it up, if you needed to finish school and grow-up still. If you felt keeping this beautiful miracle God/Jesus gave you was not fair to the child, you did the right thing. If it was for the child you cared... and not being self-centered here. God/Jesus wants us to always think in terms of others before ourselves. I believe you did the right thing. God bless you young Lady. I am so glad you did not murder your baby. I am so very glad saving human life means more to you, than what others will say. I wonder what you are going to do with the rest of your life. You amaze me.

It's on mil.com in the ENTERTAINMENT section people---read where it's coming from. Not everything in life on here is about the military....sheesh. Roll Eyes Grab a crowbar...

I have to agree with what those who actually commented ON the article: what does this young woman's past have anything to do with the movie? There's nothing valid about it, it's just something to gossip about.
Mot ALL teens gals that get pregnant come from low-income/class families. A lot do, but definately not ALL. Dang, some of them even come from MILITARY families--go figure.
I don't condemn or applaud any choice that a teen/woman has to make on this. I've had to make ALL THREE choices before the age of 24.
I've placed a child, I've had an abortion, and I've have children. Oh damn---AND I've been a stripper. AND I'm a Brat. AND I came from a middle-upper class family.
Every single choice that I've made was made by ME alone. Even when I asked for advice from my folks, the response has always been: it's your choice, your decision.

"I swear to God I didn't do it!!!"
