America should get a vehicle like this. IF armor is added to it. IT could bring in a whole squadron of troops. 130 people in 1 helicopter could be lethal comrades.

i agree the Mi-26 halo would make an excellent troop carrier with arm escort could land two platoons another could also air lift artillery support then presto a instant fire base

Why, we have the chinook, and the MI-26 has a huge and very bad disadvantage. More size=more target to hit=more choppers go down.

Sorry, Guys but I'm a bit old school: If I spot a Hind of any kind I'm looking for a LAW to shoot at it 'cus in my day that would mean we are about to have a really bad day!
I have to agree with "22lr" had to say tho...why risk so many fine troops in one transport? They are impressive tho. I still think the Pave Low with escorts will do nicely.

Also, I saw Top 10: Combat Helicopters from the Discovery channel and they said that when it went into a steep turn it had a nasty tendancy to cut off its own tailrotor or something to that effect.
