Hi,

Does anyone have any information about a "modularized version" of the Operational Intelligence course that's supposed to be offered to Reservists? I enlisted as an IS under the NAT program -- leaving for boot camp in Jan. -- and wanted to get my information straight as much as possible, but couldn't find much specifics about it.

Thanks for the help.

You are not likely to get any specifics on this public forum. There are quite a few articles on the life at the base and school you will be assigned to in this forum, to give you an idea of life there. You don't need to study anything in preparation for attending, they will take care of that when you get there. Right now, focus on your physical self for boot camp and mentally prepare yourself for a radical change in life. Other than that, go with the flow and good luck.

Hey jfk,

Thanks for the post. I understand what you're saying about getting mentally and physically prepared -- I've certainly been doing that -- but I was actually referring to "C" school options. It's only important to me because I'm going Reserve and it'll affect my post-training plans, which I need to start thinking about now.

OPINTEL C school is administered by the NITC director in NIRR. Once you know the NIRR you will be drilling in, you can get more details about the OPINTEL C School there.

I just received some helpful information from the ISC in charge of Reserve Intel "A" and "C" schools. Here's what he had to say about school lengths:

-"A" School: 12 weeks
-"C" Schools:
1) OPINTEL: 6 weeks
2) Imagery: 15 weeks
3) Ground: 8 weeks
4) Strike: 5 weeks

OPINTEL can alternatively be taught on drill weekends over a 12 month period, with an AT in San Diego for 2 weeks.

Those interested in Strike need to be aware that there is a screening process and that only 6-7 people per year are chosen. This is due to the fact that only one unit in Fallon, NV supports Srike-related missions.
