Because of the PS rating practically disappearing I'm looking into cross rating into CTI for Arabic. I'm still looking at staying Reserves until I can complete the degrees. I understand that I would have to spend the time at DLI and then, being Arabic, would more than likely get called up fairly quickly. Thats not a concern of mine. I will go without a problem. Im just taking advantage of this crazy contract of mine. (National Call to Service.) This is another concern of mine, however. My NCS contract is up in 11 months. I would be reenlisting of course. My question is, does anyone think that the NCS contract would be a speed bump for my package? Anyone have any thoughts on the matter. Thanks.

The NCS contract may help you out but in the reserves its always hard to get the long schools even if you are crossrating... It may be possible though and would never hurt you to try to put the package in. Have you taken the DLAB yet? Are you sure you are eligible for a TS//SCI security clearance? These are some things you need to ask yourself also.

I know of nothing that would keep me away from the TS/SCI. I already have the Secret. Havent taken the DLAB yet. Again, this is something that I've only been entertaining for a short period. If I have to take an active contract to do this, I will. It would only help the retirement bennies any how. I just know from experience that trying to complete the degree on the active side is extremely more difficult. School is a top priority. Earning the credits and experience in Arabic falls under that.
