Hi there. My recruiter is pushing me to go CTT because of my high pre-asvab score (90). I've read the descriptions and as much as I could find online.. the best information I could get was from a short while ago on this forum! but how do I know this would be a good match for me? I know it's a vague question, but any assistance is greatly appreciated. Maybe some traits of the job (ie: lots of computer work, filing, whatever) Also, do CTT's get to travel? I noticed some other intelligence jobs seem to be desk-based with little travel.
Thank you all so very much ahead of time.

You don't know. Your scores indicate you have an aptitude and inteligence level that would be successfull in that rate, nothing more. If the type of work interest you all the better.

USS Liberty, Never Forget.

I believe in Murrays Law, he thought Murphy was an optimist.

I loved my job as a CTT. I was on the Enterprise, so we had two aspects of the job. Electronics Inteligence, and Electronic Warfare. You are the 'Go To' person when it comes to electronic signals coming out of different areas. I can't say much of what the job entails, but if you like the idea of being part of a small community where you really only know what you do then you'll love it.

I'm surprised that the recruiter isn't pushing you to be a Nuke. Did you tell him that you didn't want to do that or something? Nukes travel and definitely do not have a desk job. Food for thought.

Nukes also work 3 section duty and 12 on 12 off. That was the case on the Big E, even in homeport on block leave. F that.

3 Section, maybe, but mostly on SUBS and for junior personnel. MY DH was EWS qualified on 8 section on a sub once.

12 on 12 off depends on what's going on.

Until you go to MEPS no one really knows if you qualify for CTT (especially due to the clearance). Recruiters normally don't push jobs, except Nuke, so it is surprising that he is even talking to your about rates.
