I may have posted this a while back but I can't remember. I'm nearing my two year mark in my current rate (SK) and I want to cross rate to CTI. I was originally contracted for CTI but due to my girlfriend not being a citizen they didn't even investigate me for a clearance. I've been told you can cross rate before your PTS is up, since it's a critical rate. The only other thing that concerns me is that on the milpersman and the conversion checklist on bupers, it says you have to be within a year of your PRD. Do they make exceptions for this for overmanned rates switching to critical rates, or am I just going to have to wait another two years? Thanks for the help.

Hey man, the best thing you could do is check with your Command Career Counselor. Its pretty awesome how the Navy made a rating like NC just so it would be someone's job to help you make the right career choice.
