I signed up for the CTT rate in May and will be leaving for basic very soon. I was doing some research and found that there is an AEF class of CTTs. Do I have to sign up for AEF CTT before ship, or are all CTTs AEF? Do you have to be top of your class or qualify somehow for AEF in A school or is it something you must designate before you ship?
Thanks

I'm a CTT DEP as well. The AEF field is a 6 year enlistment and according to my recruiter the only incentive is you'll advance to E-4 after your C school (no enlistment bonus). If you signed up for the non AEF CTT then enlisted for just 4 years. I took regular CTT because im going in E-3 because my college credits anyways, so signing up for 2 more years to advance 1 more ranks wasn't worth it. The AEF CTT will do the same A school as you, but after that they go through a 45 day C school.
