I'm moving to Monterrey in a few months for CTI A school and I was curious if anyone knew if single members are permitted to live off base. I'm an E-4 with 3 1/2 years in. I ask because I was forced off base because of critical housing in my area and need to know what to do with my stuff.

I'm pretty sure that you're allowed to live off base. A lot of my friends have moved off and they aren't married. There's a shortage of on base housing right now.

As a fleet returnee, at most you may live in barracks for a couple months. (when are you coming, btw?) Right now, the barracks are at capacity, and we have more people coming -- so the phase grad students are all getting BAH and going out in town.

I recommend craigslist to find places to live -- the apartment search websites (which are kinda useful, too) don't usually have much.
