there have been people who knew ahead of time what language they were getting. Only to be told the day they GOT to POM that it was no longer that language. so there is always the possibility that even if they do give you one in writing before hand it will change.

If you are offered Chinese or Korean, you can expect to go to Hawaii for your first tour, probably 18-20 months after you start DLI.
No offense intended, but are you certain you know what you are getting yourself into? The chances of you and your husband being stationed together are remote at best, and even if you do get stationed together in Hawaii, he will be leaving in only a little over a year from the time you get there.
The reality is that you will have very, very few duty stations you can go to...like maybe 2. Your husband can go anywhere in the navy. Yes, I have heard of instances where the navy has allowed one spouse to work out of rate to be stationed together, but don't count on that.
Expect to spend most of the next six years apart. If you think your marriage can handle it, ok, but if I were a career counselor, recruiter, or the like I would strongly recommend against you both going active duty, as I see it costing you your marriage.

welll as an HM he could also end up at Bethesda..and Ft Meade is just down the street. There's also a DIRSUP shop in San Dawg which opens Balboa up as an option as well.. But if you get Ft Gordon..well, no Navy bases any where near an HM can go. But if you figure 2 years start to finish training for you..he'll be at least halfway through his rotation anyway and would have to extend there a while in order to have YOUR PRD line up with his in order to request Co Location. as a CTI however, you are almost just as likely to go to an Army base as you are a Navy one.

While it is highly unlikely to end up at Fort Gordon, we do have an HM or two here that works with our Navy folks.

I do understand about the confusing part... does anybody know what the entity formerly known as NSGA Kunia is now known as? I know it was NSA/CSS Hawaii, but what the heck is it called now?
