He absolutely loved the Navy, and loved being a CT. We lived all around the world and met some great people...the CT community was a tight knit group. Is it still like that? (I went to school with the same kids in 3 different places!)
I am an ex-nuc and was stationed onboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. I was in for 6 years and spent a lot of time at sea. My father was in for 20 years and spent 6 months riding subs --that is the extent of his sea time. I love to tell him, "Get some time on the pond, Dad...then come talk to me." I have always thought that CT would have been a great rate for me. I fell for the nuc recruiter BS and went nuc without first exploring all options available to me. I don't remember my ASVAB score, but does anyone know if I scored high enough to go nuc, could I have gone for CT?? |

Geez, dude, this is just a forum. First off, the title of your post has nothing to do with the subject; secondly, there are people in the world who have mastered the art of remaining silent when they have nothing to add. Some of them even browse Navy forums.
Attitude = FTL Research = FTW There are charts upon charts all over the internet that have AFQT/ASVAB requirements for each and every rating in the Navy. Google is still in business, as are Yahoo and others. In addition, "I am/was a nuke" doesn't necessarily qualify you for every rating, as your AFQT score matters less than the combination of certain test sections. Read more. Research more. Post less. If you want an official NAVY answer, call a recruiter. Have a good day. CTI2 |

Geez, dude...I didn't realize that there was a "forum police", but thanks for making that clear.
As I mentioned in my post, I grew up around the CT community and loved the fact that it was such a "tight knit" community. I never experienced that when I was in. I guess I was wondering if the CT community was still like that? Also, I never implied that just because I was a "nuke" that qualified me for every rating...sorry if you took it that way. I didn't realize that answering simple questions was such a hardship for some people. I will do better next time. Thanks -- you have been very helpful. |
