Im currently an EN2 and will be submitting a conversion package for CTN this July. I have some questions for anyone out there that has submitted a package recently.
First, what are the chances of being accepted? I have a TS/SCI clearance and a B.S. in computer information technology, A.S. in mathematics. I don't hold any major certs, I've taken some Microsoft exams, (the only good Microsoft exam I ever took was the old NT 4 TCP/IP exam because it was not too Microsoft specific and man I really had to learn TCP/IP inside and out, got a 970 without using a braindump). I have no disqualifying issues, meet the ASVAB requirement and as of right now my current rate is Creo Group 3. I'm working with the CT's onboard to try to find time to do the recommended BDNA course but it is hard as we are deployed. Can anyone else tell me what their background was if approved or denied?
Second, how long after being approved did you get orders to leave your command and go to school? I'm just curious, and if the wait time is very long then I will go with plan B which is to get out and use my MGIB to get a higher degree in Math with an emphasis on cryptography.
Third, do you like the rate? It sounds like it is extremely well suited for me and my interests. I don't know exactly what CTN's do and can do, but the list of things that DIRSUP_KOSLING posted to study in a topic a long time ago got me extremely excited. Yeah I'm a geek.
Thank you in advance for any information you can provide me.
