Can who ever is deleting my thread for my house please explain why it has been deleted twice in the last two days? If it contains something that it shouldn't please let me know and I will remove the information, but please don't just delete it.

The moderators are the only ones that can delete posts.. I'm not sure what the rules are for posting classified ads here. I've seen lots of it, but I think (not sure) you may have to be in the CG, or military. It may say in the TOS..

I have had it posted for 2 months now. I posted here because I am right next to the ATC here in Mobile and I have a bunch of Coasties in my neighborhood. I have actually had a lot of Coasties come and look at my house with the help of a Realtor which means they are having to pay for the Realtor commission. I was trying to save them some money if they bought from me without a Realtor. Depending on the commission rate it could be 5% - 6% of the home price.

If I am being deleted for the reasons Wray stated, let me know and I will leave, but I thought this forum was for people to advertise their houses to the CG.

Just read over the TOS and I do not see where it says that anyone has to be in the military to post in the forum.

Thanks Wray. If there was something I had on the post that was not allowed I could have changed it. I am not trying to break any rules on posting, just trying to get my house out there.

You may have to list this house in the "classified" section of military.com... not sure.. that is why I think this needs a mods clarification.

Hey guys, sorry about the delay. My rollover accident had me out of commission for a week or so.

To answer the question, Wray is right, only the mods have the authority to delete a thread or post. I have nothing in email or message suggesting any post or thread here has been removed. With that being said, as long as it follows the TOS AND the rules outlined in the featured threads, you are good to go.

Not sure what happened with the thread that was removed, it doesn't seem to have come from the mod delegation.

Tony,

Thanks for the reply... one more question.. what exactly are the rules for listing a house for sale on here... I don't think realtors can, but I am unclear about other restrictions..

Thanks again..

Wray..

Personally, I'm not sure if it should matter, but in this case (a FSBO, by a non-mil person) it would be reasonable to apply the same rules as you would to an Agent.

Let me ask. I assume it would be prohibited bacause you are using mil.com to assist you with making a comission on the sale of the protperty. Ill tell you what the reply is.

That would be me. I was doing so in accordance with the following section of the TOS:

6(vii) contains solicitations or advertisements of any kind.

Sorry it took so long to reply. For the last couple of days I was getting an error anytime I tried.

militia1: to answer your question I am the owner of the house. I am living it in right now trying to sell it. Just like the hundreds of other post on this forum. The commission thing I stated was because I have it listed on the MLS so Realtors can show my house. I paid to have it listed to try and sell it faster. In order to do that you have to let the Realtors know that you will offer them a commission if they find a buyer. I was trying to say that if someone bought it from me without the help of a Realtor, that I could take the commission I had built in, off to lower the price of the house.

LetsGoRedSox: I guess I do not understand. There are hundreds of post just like mine on this forum. I thought this one one of the reasons for the forum. I have had my house on here for about 2 months before it was removed.

In my judgment, I felt that this being a Coast Guard forum, it should be a place for Coast Guard members to list the houses that they were trying to rent or sell. We get a lot of outside advertisements on here from non-military sources, and that was my impression of the post. As far as being on here for 2 months, I don't get to see each and every post, so I scan the most recently updated ones. I will defer to militia1 on this one, since he is the lead moderator.
