Try around the Inter-Costal area near San Pablo Rd and Hodges. The Schools around there are real good and its not to far away from the base. The Jacksonville Beach and Neptune Beach areas are real nice also. I would avoid the Northside area.

Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Jax Beach. Just about anywhere on the east (ocean) side of the Intracoastal (Jagsfan, write 100 times on the blackboard: "I will not call the InTRAcoastal waterway the InTERcoastal"), Ponte Vedra if you can afford it, but chances are you can't.

Look very carefully before choosing Arlington, a lot of what looks like serene suburbia has gang activity. Many of the larger apartment complexes along the expressways leading to the beach have crime problems also.

The future of the Mayport ferry is up in the air, something to think about if you are looking on the other side of the river.

If you don't mind the commute Orange Park is a great area as well. Took about 30 min to get to work once they opened up 9A.

I would echo this advice....only I would call it the intracoastal Wink, but in all seriousness I was there for three years, living on hodges blvd and loved it ....not far from work, and great schools.

We use to go to the NAS Jax very frequently for CBP, from Clearwater. Orange Park seemed like a nice place to me too. A bit heavy on the traffic though during rush hours.

Yes that is true but it was a lot less to live and I didn't need to leave OP except for work and the beach. Also having NAS was a big plus.

Realty Executives. The guy who owns this brance is a retired CWO(Bos'n). I rented from him for 3 year and never had a problem. His number is 904-220-8008, and his name is Tommy Moore.

My family said 295 is under major overhaul. I would avoid Orange Park unless you love backed up traffic. Also, the Sector just broke ground on a new facility being built on Blount Island. When that opens, a drive from Orange Park is going to be real long.

Its a good time to buy and the Jax market is great. I registered on Prudentials site and got a call a few hours later from an agent. I'm headed there too.

I grew up in Orange Park and ole Blanding Blvd and intersection of I-295 is a parking lot during the morning/evening hours. ARGH!! St Johns County (East of St Johns River) is south of Mayport but a nice area.

Get ready for HUMIDITY! It SUCKS! Cool

You are going right where I grew up. Try looking around 32225 area. That will put you 5 minutes away just accross the new Wonderwood expressway. They pretty much built that for Mayport. If you want to go a little cheaper just start working your way west back down FT. Caroline rd. You shouldn't hit any traffic, Its right neer a major mall/shopping areas and a huge park/rec. area. You can also look back over the Dames Point Bridge (9A on your map.) Either way you will never hit any traffic. Good luck.

Can any of you help with my upcoming move to St. Marys, Georgia? (Kings Bay Navy Sub Base) I understand it's just over the FL/GA border. Need info on good neighborhoods, preschools, elementary schools.
Thanks.
