I'm not sure this is the right place for this question but we are "Moving On".

We are moving into Gov. housing on Alameda this summer, could somebody tell me what Elementary School my kids will attend? On a map provided my ISC is shows George P. Miller. I have done some research on www.greatschools.net and have found many good schools on Alameda but can not find George P. Miller, is there any such thing? Our one child has ADD and it is imperative that we get her into the right school that knows how to work with her, public school might not be the answer. Are there any private schools that you would recommend?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

George P Miller is no longer an elementary school, it is now the school districts building. I don't know what school the kids that live in housing go to now though. Check with the housing office, they should be able to help you.

Since the closing of the other Elementary most of the kids are going to Ruby Bridges.

Here's the school district website

http://www.alameda.k12.ca.us/education/district/district.php?sectiondetailid=1

and the phone (510) 337-7072

I called the Housing Office today and they said the same thing about Ruby Bridges, www.greatschools.net does not give the school a very good rating at all, in fact it's the worst on Alameda. Someone said Ruby Bridge is only about two years old and that might acount for the low reviews (?)

Thanks for your replies.

Tincup,

Try contacting Alameda PD, they can give you a good insight on crime, problems, etc. It isn't what you were asking about, however this is also good to know if your moving with a family.
