Found housing easy in Morehead City, across the bridge. The commute from Cherry Pt. is a bit far, and the housing isn't the greatest. They were in the process of remodeling when I left, but I'd still look on the economy in the local area first.
There are a decent numbe of appartments off of bridges street, just avoid Bay St.
Also avoid Gull Isle Realty, very shady. Realty world, or Century 21 are ok.
The small town of Pine knoll shores, at about mile marker 5 on Hwy 58 is nice. Lived off of Juniper and Cypress.
