Can a person join the Army or any other branch of the service if they recived a Chapter 11 failure to adapt discharge from the Army while in Basic Training? What would be involved in the process and what should I know to do and ny other advice that I could use would be helpful! Thanks
Do you have an RE code on your paperwork?
I still haven't recived my paperwork yet because I'm not going to get it until Tuesday. I'm actually still here on base waiting for all this to process. I've been asking about all this but no one seems to have a clear cut answer to give me.
Maybe becasue its a post instead of a base ?
11–2. Basis for separation
Separation of a soldier in entry level status may be warranted on the grounds of unsatisfactory performance and/or
unsatisfactory conduct as evidenced by—
b. Lack of reasonable effort.
c. Failure to adapt to the military environment.
d. Minor disciplinary infractions.
Seriously its all in the RE code and characterization.
RE-1 is fully eligible
RE-2 are fairly easy to waiver
RE-3 take some pretty heavy duty waivers, like 05 and O6 level.
RE-4 Are about impossible

You don't have to answer this and it's up to you.
Wondering the same thing.
Long story short, I just gave up on myself but I realize what I did was wrong.
Yes Sir, my RE code is 3. So since this is going to be a hard wavier to get I'm already working on what I have to do to get it.
Oh, hmmm. I know you were National Guard, and that might be your best bet for getting back in. They tend to give out more waivers. Can't hurt to ask recruiters. Or honestly maybe the military just isn't your thing. It's a decision only you can make.
Well Sir I know that I'm obviouslly not the best at this but all I want to do is get back in and do what I have to do. So wish me luck. I'm not a quitter and I've wanted to be in the Service for far too long in my life to let it go!
Do it. People make mistakes. People sometimes realize they're not ready to take the leap just as they hit the edge. As long as you know in your heart what you want to do and know the mistakes you've made for what they really are, then make the jump man. Who knows. When you get back in, you may have just what the Army needs to make a good leader out of you to share your experiences with those that may feel the same as you once did.
It could happen at any point in your career. It happened to me. I hit the Army sprinting and ran out of steam halfway through(stress happens sometimes) and simply couldn't finish the race, if you don't mind metaphor.
Good luck. Hopefully I myself will be back in one day. Best wishes to you, brother.
Great advice I knew a guy who got kicked out of PNCOC (old term for Warrior leaders course) then he ETSed. Came back in about 2 years later and retired as a MSG.
I just got my paperwork, the 1st time I tried to retrieve it I was told they couldn't find it, 3 years later I just got a copy
AR 635-200 CHAPTER 11
Reason for seperation:
entry level performance and conduct
I just found out these things today and I was discharged in 09-12-2005
I want to rejoin the National Guard I also picked up 34 FEMA certificates
can anyone help me?
