How much active duty enlisted time do you have to have to be considerd a 01E after commissioning? How much National Guard time do you have to have to be considered 01E after commissioning?
I believe it all comes down to points. You need to have 1460 retirement points to be eligible for O-1E. Check your annual point worksheet on iPerms to see where you stand.
I speak from the National Guard side but if you divide 1460 by 365, you get 4 years. My S-1 told me the conversion was something to the equivalent of 4 years and a day. I'm short by about a 140 points. Oh well.
4 years is the amount of Active Time, including ADOS, TDY, and any activation that is NOT solely for IET. That's what we were told, but I don't have the reg to back it up. Look it up on mypay website.

I was granted the O1E in the Army Reserves due to the 1460 retirement points IAW DoD Financial Management Regulation Volume 7A (http://www.defenselink.mil/comptroller/fmr/07a/07a_01.pdf); however, I have to redo everything again for the DMJS-AC pay system since I am recently selected for Regular Army accession. It did not happened automatically. I had to submit a finance inquiry, and as of today, I still don't have special pay rate E-pay in the Active Component pay system. In addition, I needed to submit DA 1506. Since I am IMA, HRC prepared it for me, and it took some time.
If you've never been active or mob'd, you're not going to get it. There are quite a few limitations as to what counts for points. I went to OBC with NG officers who had been in 14-15 and didn't qualify.
