I am currently a National Guard officer in IERW at Ft. Rucker, but am finding that the National Guard was not the best route for me.

What is the likelihood of being able to switch to Active Duty as an officer? What are the catches?

What is the likelihood of being able to switch to Active Duty as a Warrant Officer? What are the catches?

What are the catches of switching to Warrant in the Guard?

I'm just trying to get a better understanding of all of my choices, and if I have any at all.

Thanks for your help.

You're options are almost limitless in the Guard. I've known folks who have been enlisted, comissioned, warrant, then back to enlisted over the course of thier careers to get around force structure changes, MRD's for officers, and longevity. Remember your retirement is based on high 3 these days.

You would probably get a better answer by asking this in the Recruiting Forum. The people working there would be able to provide specific info. on your chances and options.
