I'm an 11C that just PCSed to the states from Korea. I badly wanted a deployable light unit. I just started inprocessing to a TRADOC/FORSCOM unit. They're obviously non-deployable.

I tried to reenlist to get different orders while I was in Korea, but I was told that I would have to extend for an indefinite amount of time, so I did not.

I've been told that I cannot PCS more than once in a year, but I do not know if there is truth to this. If it is true, would it be possible to reenlist for a different brigade assigned to this post?

Thank you in advance.

TRADOC isn't deployable, but FORSCOM damn sure is. How much time do you have left, and where are you?

You can not PCS more than once during a Fiscal year - 1 oct xx to 30 sept xx. Choice of Duty station reenlistment option is to move you to another base, not another unit on post but there are sometimes exceptions.

There is no such thing as a TRADOC/FORSCOM unit - they are either TRADOC or they are FORSCOM. Are you at Ft Polk?

Former 11C myself

I'm at 5-1, 1St AD, Ft. Bliss. They're apparently in transition from TRADOC to FORSCOM. I'm sorry for the confusion.

Are you assigned to one of the BRAC units moving from Fort Bliss to Fort Sill, OK?

Negative. I'm in 5th brigade. They're the "Army's evaluation task force (AETF)", or something.

All I want is to get to a unit that is bound for Afghanistan. I seriously didn't think it would honestly be this hard to get deployed.

New Problem: They're telling me that my unit has me stabilized until May of next year. They're saying that I can't reenlist until next year. My BS meter is off the charts right now. Is there any truth to it?

This brigade is beyond weird. From what I've been told, they've switched to FORSCOM, but are still TRADOC as well. The weirdness has something to do with them being the AETF (Army Evaluation Task Force).

I'm a PFC, so I doubt my odds of getting on a MiTT team are too high.
