Only posted here because i want to re-enlist.

I got out on a psych discharge after 7 months, its been about two and a half years now, i believe i am better. I have an evaluation for my claim on the 22nd with the VA, however my goal is to not get a claim, rather , my goal is to be shown to be fit for duty. I talked to my local VA officer, and he said i had two options.

1. I foot the bill myself, get a doctor to sign off the waiver.

or

2. Start a claim and get a doctor there to do it instead.

Catch is i cant afford option number 1, and option 2 is a one-shot deal.

What I am posting about is, how should i go about my visit on the 22nd? What knowledge should i be armed with? Can the doctor there even do what i want IF i pass.

Again, i dont want the claim, i want a clean bill of health to get back in. But i dont want to be stuck in the middle ground between not having my claim go through (because if im really not fixed and need help, i would like to get it), and not being able to go back in. Which seems like apossibility if they can prove its not service connected but i still have it.

Any advice on at least the proper place to ask this? My VA officer, while helpful, cant really help anymore. He does paperwork, not medical.

Any and all help appriciated.

If you're curious i was a 68W in training, served more than 6 months so i get some sort of recognition for a job and a mission i was contracted to do but never did. All i can think about is going back to fix that. I wasted the country's time and money before. I intend to rectify it.

Thank you very much for any help.

You should ask this in the Veterans Issues Forums.
