...a 19D reclassifying into 18x? Or reclassifying to any other MOS, get their SFAS packet, then work in a SF or Delta unit?

Any in service applicant to SF is going to be reclassed upon completion of the Q.

18X is not a real MOS. It basically means the person is a candidate for SF TRAININIG. It does NOT mean the person is qualified.

The only was a 19D would have anything close too what you described is if he was going active from the reserve and was able to reserve 18X. He would start the pipeline just like any other 18X, except that he would join infantry OSUT in week 10.

19D's (or anyone else) may try out for any SMU, and that SMU's policies for acceptance are not up for discussion here.
