I know we get these things all the time. I do have a question, I am home from my 3rd tour in Iraq, and I have a future uncle in-law who lives in the Fort Bragg area, who claims to have been a retired E-8, with 24 years of service.

I have looked on AKO, Military.com, and have tried to go threw VFW channels, but thats kinda private info. I know some of you out there have these connections. My family know's I am legit, and they are curious to hear if he is or not. Apparently he has served 7 tours overseas, and was at Bragg, thats all he says. You can't bs me, but until I can get some proof, I just dont know. Anyways here is his info. Any help is much apperciated, I figured most you guys live at bragg anyway, and it could be easy for you to look up.

Raymond Elbert Coats. Goes by the name of ray. I found a Raymond B. Coats living in NC as a PFC. But he talks the SF talk, with his wonderful stories, but wont say if it was Panama, or what. Claims to have "been to Iraq" so I can assume he was Gulf War. Again, just asking for assistance. Appericate it.

You have access to the USPS National Change of Address DB online as does all the readers of this thread. Its how the IRR tracks you.

All you need to do is enter the real name and city state in Superpages dot com after clicking the People Tab. There will be a link or box somewhere on the Search Results to VIEW ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. Click the background link and it should display all past addresses for the last 15-20 years unless the guy never recieved any snail mail or his wife stayed stationeory at Ft. Bragg. You can also use Google or Smartpages in much the same way. If you don't use the right name your results will be skewed.

It is not unusual for Special Forces to deploy that many times to Iraq for a MSG (if that is what is raising your suspicion level). I wouldn't know of course but I think someone told me that when I asked two years ago.

I was never SF (only Infantry and a long time ago) but I do know a few things about Information Technology.

What is it exactly that is making you question him?

Sorry for the late response. I am back in Iraq now, I was sent home on EML and actually met him face to face. He is a Retired E-5 SGT with the North Carolina National Guard. What made me question him was when I asked specific questions to him over the phone before we meet, he was saying things like.. im a Retired E-8, and so I respond with, oh wow, well your doing good in retirement, and he says yeah I make about $6,000.00 a month. And immediatly im like hmm.. deff a lie, then I asked him where all have you been stationed, and he says.. all over.. ok, most people name bases, he then says, I was at Bragg most of my career... so I think ok, maybe he was 82nd, did the korea thing, and came back... then he wanted to feed me all his 7 tour lines, so I question those as well. Where all did you go? Where you in Panama? Did you go to Jungle Expert School out there back in like 1989 when you said you joined up?? And this cat said that there is no such thing?? So thats why I brought him up.

The story goes, he is dating my wifes, mothers sister... and has went around there family, talking like he is this Retired E-8 and he has all these stories, so they wanted me to call and see what I could get out, and thats why I posted this comment. Thought you guys could look him up real quick. Anyways thats my story for those who care to take the time and read all this stuff I just typed in here. Yall take care, and thanks for help.

Raymond Elbert Coats pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault on a female and received 60 days suspended sentence, 18 months supervised probation, ordered to enroll in Halt, pay fees and not to assault, threaten or harass victim.
This is a public record.

Poser or not, I would tell her to dump him before he starts slapping her around. Unless of course there is somebody that lives near him with the same exact name. (And the odds of that are?) Tell her to ask him when his probation is over.

Well Praise the Lord!! I dunno how you did it, or found that info my friend but thanks a million. I looked everywhere like I stated up above, AKO White Pages, military.com, and VFW, and could not find anything on this guy. God is good!! SITREP as follows, break...

So the information that you found out about the assault on female charge, was actually on her. The story goes, lol I feel like im on Jerry Springer.. this guy and her get together, break up, and get back together again.. He retired out of NC guard, and gets some sort of disability.. So he may get a little more than just E-5 pay. I think he says there is something wrong with his back. Anyway, I told my wife, and my mother in law somethings they can do to call him out on being an E-5 and not E-8. Ray tells Donna "the girl whom he dates" he is still E-8. So I told the family to ask him to show you his ID card, should be blue in color, and should have his rank on it, then I told them to ask if he doesn't have that, then tell him next time he comes to house to bring his DD-214. I mean its not a HUGE deal, but its just upsetting to know that some people in this world, have to make up accomplishments, and then spend there whole life lying about it.

So thats the update, I guess its just a sex thing between those two, classic North Carolina, redneck trailer trash haha... didn't mean to bring any drama into the Special Ops board, I just figured you guys could have figured stuff out for me a little faster. Hope you folks are doing well, and thanks for the interest in the conversations.

The thread was pretty interesting. I thought for sure that BIGTALIKILLER had the wrong guy and it was just a strange coincidence.

The court documents don't lie. Sounds like he is is trying to lie his way out of it. He Pleaded guilty means (he pleaded guilty) period. It does not say she pleaded (HE) pleaded guilty. Now he is starting to **** me off, I feel like going to his house and smacking his lying ass around a little....damn woman beater!
