Hi all, I'm 16 and am just waiting til I can finish school so I can join the Army. I have a question, though...

Okay, so as I understand it, it goes like:
10 weeks Army BCT, 4 weeks AIT, 3 weeks Airborne School, and when you're Airborne-qualified you are eligible to get into the Regiment.

So, there is the 4-week RIP, which is like a prep course for Ranger School, and then the actual 2-month Ranger school, which qualifies you for the tab, right?

So, to get into the Regiment, do you have to do just the RIP or both it and actual Ranger School? Sorry if my wording is a bit... harsh, it's kinda hard to explain through a keyboard. Smile

RIP gets you to Regiment. Then, at a future point in time, you may attend Ranger School to get the tab.

There are many many threads on this forum that explain this, but Ranger School is not a step on the way to Regiment. Keep reading through threads that talk about Ranger, and check the stickies at the top that reference Option 40.

That's essentially what I thought, thanks.

EDIT: Yeah, I see the sticky now.... don't know how I missed it before.
