I did Q-course 90-91 and that was during the draw down. In the Echo course we had a cook and a legal specialist, an E-4 with 8 years in etc. There were many a Soldier trying to make SF to aviod the QMP program. ome of the guys were ok and some you knew were duds when they would say things like "I just want to work in the BOP", while we all had to do our pennance in the BOP no SF Soldier should want to stay there, heck back them if you taught an RTO code they could and did work in the BOP as well as any 18 series guy

Man,

Just watching this discussion is making me feel old. I graduated Phase 3 in 1979 (USAIMA) and it sounds like a different Army. I was fluent in French (passed the French DLPT at JFKCENMA with a 92) and marginal in Spanish and German before I joined the Army. Things were pretty tight then...not much money for toys then, but we got to jump alot.

Went through SERE when Nick Rowe was developing the program fresh.

Know stuff about me I'd rather forget.

Good night brothers.

We had a program similar to the Xray program in 1979 and 1980 (I am not sure when it ended).
You took one of the 5 MOS (11B and 11C were normally full), the went to basic, AIT, airborne, and then to Prephase.
You retained the normal Army MOS but with designators.
We were still doing the IMC key then, at Gordon and in A Company during 2nd Phase.
I was Class 8080P.
