Basic Training

Ok, so I'm looking into Psychological Operations (Psyop) for an MOS in the Army. The unit is the 4th out of Fort Bragg, and is part of the "Special Operations Community (SOC)." I've been told that Psyop soldiers (part of the SOC) can participate in SOC uniqe courses, or "SOC ongoing training." What kind of courses are these? I've heard of SERE and HALO, but what other courses are there? I read about evasive driving/ shooting? But thats all I really know of. Any help would be great. Thanks!

No BS answer -

You get Airborne and Language automatic.

If you go to 9th Battalion (which is the only BN that is Tactical) you will get Air Assault. Once you get your SGT's stripes, you can request SERE, Pathfinder, Jumpmaster, or Ranger.

If you go to a Strategic PSYOP BN, you may get SERE if you kiss enough azz, and same as above with Jumpmaster and Pathfinder.

Reserve PSYOP Units were getting slots at Blackwater for schools in 2005, but that dried up.

If you go to 9th BN as yout first assignment - once you get some team time and are eligible for E-5 board, look into trying out for the Det that is no longer in 9th ( OPSEC!!!!).
