ok well I am a military wife with three crazy *** kids. Currently going through 3rd deployment and this is the 1st on in Iraq. Things are tough but just take it day by day, thats all I can do. Kids sometimes have bad days but we pull together and try to keep positive. Well I guess we'll see if you respond now.

Hi, my name is Dana, I am female just interested in chatting and becoming friends with a solider. I am not married but my boyfriend was deployed to Iraq last August and just returned this July. It is amazing how you miss him so much but yet get so used to being so excited about the simple things, like little green letters, one sentence e-mails or 15 minute timed phone calls to say I love you. The crazy thing is that as a girlfriend you are promised anything but yet you are expected to promise everything and becoming a "professional" girlfriend becomes natural even with out that promise. Once my solider came home I realized that being a great girlfriend doesn't promise you anything in return, not even a casual relationship. It's so hard going an enitre year learning and appreciating the simple things and one day he comes home and those simple things are gone. It's easy to not be happy with the person I know him as now but it's hard to fall out of love with the person that I knew him as in Iraq. I just want to have someone to communicate with and become friends over email. No promises, no relationship, just friends. I wish you the best of luck in Iraq.

I totally agree with what you are saying it's not an easy concept. I am the GF of an army soldier and this is his 3rd deployment and my first a learning experience to say the least so, I think I have been a great suport system for him so he says, write anytime I am here for morale support.

Hi,
I'm not a military wife, however, I am married with two children. If you just want to chat and enjoy conversation, I would be interested in being your penpal. If not and you know of anyone looking for one let me know.

I agree. My husband is in afghanistan now and I am leaving for iraq this weel and I'm afraid that when we both come back things are going to be bad. Our relationship while deployed has been the best it has been in a long time and i think it is because we let the small things go and appreciate eachother more. But i think one the deployment end, all that understanding will end also.
