I'm 19 years old and interested on what others think of the state of the world as we know it.

I know theres a lot of people who believe that the world is supposed to end Dec 21, 2012 and to tell you the truth this doesn't completely out of this world. Not just because thats the day the Mayan(or is it Aztec?) calender ends but lets look at whats going on right now in the world.

We are still at war in the middle east. Israel and Palestine have increased violence in the Gaza Strip. Correct me if I'm wrong but the battle between God and the Devil is supposed to occur at Mount Megiddo in Israel.

Also the recent election and soon inauguration of Barack Obama is uplifting and also somewhat startling to me. There is much speculation that Obama is the "Anti-Christ" Its to my understanding that the Anti-Christ is a man of Muslim decent who will

a. Have great charisma and ability to speak

b. Rise to power on a wave of world euphoria, as he temporarily saves the world from its desperate economic, military & political problems with a plan for world peace, economic stability & religious freedom.

Sounds a lot like our new President.

Another thing is that i've heard/read is that the creation of a single world government or "new world order" is also a sign of the Apocalypse.

To conclude I'm asking all of you, What can happen in just under 4 years?

I remember back in 1983 I was your age, had the same thoughts. Everything thats going right now doesn't mean a thing. Sorry to burst your bubble. My advice to you is live your life the best you can. The end of the world might be tomorrow, or 10000 years from now. Thats my thoughts on this subject.

By the way its been the end of days for quite some time now

I don't believe the world is going to end in 2012. People have said that the world is going to end for thousands of years now. It never does.

Since the Rapture hasn't ocurred yet, the Tribulation Period hasn't begun. So, Biblically speaking, the world can't "end" in 2012.

Matthew 24:36 states, "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone."

Believing the scripture above, if anyone "sets a doomsday date," that's the one date that you can count on nothing happening.

This alignment already happened. It occurred from Sept 1998 to Sept 2001.

It takes thousands of years for a shift in the the magnetic poles to occur, even still, during the shift we will still have a magnetic field which will continue to protect us.

our calender works with the seasonal cycles, therefore everyyear it ends. Theirs works with the, I'll say, the zodiac cycles, that lasts I've heard 26,000 years. Their calender is ending. Wars, famine and plague are predictable and always have been!

It takes thousands of years for a shift in the the magnetic poles to occur, even still, during the shift we will still have a magnetic field which will continue to protect us.

Perhaps you could do some more reading. Look on the terms Planet X and NASA. The "tenth planet" is not a theory, it was discovered about 1983 and further identified in 1993/4 by the man who headed the Naval Observatory in DC. (He died young)

Not known if this "PLanet X" is the body referred to by the Sumerians as Nibiru, as other cultures had other terms for it...Eris, the God planet, etc

Aparently it is in a unusual place that can only be observed from the South Pole or close- now there is a new observatory down there (built since 1994). Or from the Hubble or other orbiting platform. Scientists only know what Hubble sees from what NASA releases because Hubble data is encrypted? Why?

Theories and lore of many many ancient cultures say it is on an elliptical orbit that brings it into our solar system about once every 3600 years. When it swings close by (perhaps between Mars and Jupiter) it affects all the planets- for us, it has caused cataclysmic life altering changes such as polar magnetic reversal, massive dislocations of the poles and associated inundations, changes in the rotation of the earth, effects on the earth's magnetc core that cause warming, polar ice melting from underneath, massive volcanic upheavals and tidal waves. ie, "noah's flood" 7200 years ago and the disapearance of the continent Atlantis and a polar shift about 3600 years ago. So we would be due another near visit in about 2012.

After it swings through here, due to all the energy, it causes a comet-like effect (or it brings comets and other smaller bodies attracted to it's magnetism) which is also going to be devastating from all the debris hitting us- perhaps for many years.

All I can say is- if it is a 10th planet (with or without a brown dwarf star orbiting each other)- and if it is inbound- we should know soon. Science then won't be able to obfuscate or deny it.

The planets and their larger moons and other bodies in the outer solar system are heating up and no one has explained why. They will show the effects soonest as it approaches, if it approaches. But our earth will be increasingly geologicllay and magnetically unstable and the sun's activty will also be affected as this possible (binary?) system approaches our known solar system boundaries.

Planet X may become visible to the naked eye by later this year. At about the same time a new movie "2012" is due in July- if it is released.

If you are a UFO believer some say the strange activity occurring is an effort to warn us or at least observe us. Others say there are powerful people and powers who know what is coming and are secretly preparing to survive and perpetuate life, ahead of the panic.

You're absolutely right! Every generation has its dark moments that feeds into this end of days paranoia. I don't think any moment was darker than the World War II years when virtually the entire world was at war with madmen determined to dominate it on one hand with very impressive war machines at their beck and call, and underdog nations teaming up together on the other. In the early years, things looked pretty gloomy.

Funny you should mention 1983; don't know if you did that because that happened to be when you were 19 or if you were making an indirect reference to an incident that almost triggered a nuclear exchange between the superpowers. In September 1983, NATO conducted exercise ABLE ARCHER. It was a routine exercise conducted every year at about the same time and no big secret to the Soviets. What made this particular exercise significant was that NATO expanded what amounted to a comm-ex (communications exercise for the non-fluent speakers) to include all the key nodes that would be involved in an actual nuke strike: in other words, everything short of actually pressing buttons. Keep in mind, just a few weeks earlier, the Soviets had just shot down KAL 007, which served as a propaganda sweep for the Reagan administration. Earlier in that same year, Reagan announced the Space Defense Initiative or "Star Wars" program. And in the Spring of '83, the Pacific Fleet had launched its largest exercise to date that involved three aircraft battle groups who probed the hell out of the Kamchatka Peninsula. There are people who make a lot of money selling books and literature to people who believe in things such as end times and rapture. Most biblical scholars agree that there is no basis for the Evangelical concept of rapture in the Bible. Like many other things, it is a scare tactic capitalized on both to control people and to make money. Live your life to the fullest and be good to others. You'll be fine.

What about the Europeans? 216 over there is February 16th. How about 29 August as "29A" is the hexidecimal number of the beast? Also, are you sure it's not 616 (as per the Ozyrhynchus fragment)?

Besides that, you're using Arabic numerals that weren't used until nearly a thousand years after the phrase containing "666" was written. Adding the 'hundreds' with the 'tens' and single digits would have been incomprehensible in the previous methods of numbering (Hebrew, Greek or Latin) as the total was a specific configuration and not a positional listing of digits.

Also, how is it that you pull a date on a calendar that didn't even exist when the phrase was written? The world was under the Julian calendar then, not the Gregorian of 1583. Additionally, January wasn't the beginning of the year at the birth of Christ, March was.

Other cultures (Chinese, Javanese, Iran, Hindu) have other calendars in which 666 or 216 or 616 or 326 (6*1*6) would pull entirely different dates.

In short, given any random number, you can justify nearly any date on any calendar. All you have to do us manipulate it to do what you want.

I don't believe anyone can accurately post a date for the end time, the Bible says that even Jesus Christ does not know the day or hour, but it does say we can know the times. The times do seem to certainly point to the end, when? I dunno, but I truly believe that events in the world show that it is near. The recent election and the what I call push for a new world order is prophetically real. I don't for one minute believe in the predictions of Nostrodamus. Some of the thins he predicted came true, well he got lucky!!! The Bible however, is not in error, things are happening just as predicted and no one will proclaim the exact day of the end except God himself when he tells his Son, Jesus Christ to go get his children. It could be tonight, it could be tomorrow, it could be years from now. When the temple is started to be rebuilt in Jerusalem and sacrifices are once again made look up for your redemption draweth neigh. Just be sure your ready no matter when. It doesn't matter when the world comes to an end, just be eternally ready, that's all that matters.

Oh, by the way, I just gotta say this one last thing, to all those people that think this big question the kid asked is some kind of joke, they can laugh about and make fun of. As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of God. Everyone laughed at little old Noah. What a fool for building an Ark and doing as he was told because a flood was coming.
