Looking to join as a lab officer, definately leaning toward navy over other services (travel), I'm wondering if anyone here could tell me what serving as a lab officer in the navy is like compared to civilian or compared to other services (responsibilities, hours etc. for both home and deployments). Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Have you spoken to an officer recruiter? When I talked to my recruiter he gave me the names and numbers of a few officers that were in my designator that I could speak to. I contacted them via phone and they were very helpful.
I have seen an MSC (Medical Service Corps aka Twigs) working as the division officer for a core lab and maybe blood bank. I do not know what her degree or background is. Maybe try doing a search on Medical Service Corps. Again the officer recruiter is the best bet.
