Hello, first let me introduce my self im prior Army Infantry, airborne, and have done a combat tour in Iraq. Im looking at the FMF corpsman, I want to go back and help, and am not happy with the army. Do they take into account prior Infantry experiance? Do prior service get treated any diferant, not just a FMSS but a Corpsman school? O and how long is FMSS school.
Regarding FMSS, you'd still have to complete it for service in the Fleet Marine Force. Compared to the training you had with the Army, FMSS isn't going to be physically challenging at all as long as you stay in good shape.
FMSS was one of the best schools I've attended, with most of the instructors fresh from duty in Iraq, you get a really good set of instructors and great training. It's only 7 weeks long, and at the end, you're glad you got to go.
