Has anyone ever applied to the medical enlisted commissioing program (MECP). I am applying this year and I have some questions that the instruction obviously does not answer.

My first issue is the letter of acceptance or provisional letter of acceptance. This is not going to happen. There aren't any nursing schools that will give me that. And through my research to even apply to the fall semester to a school of nursing. I can't apply until the pool opens in usually between October thru December the previous year. This is a problem since the package is due in 25 September this year.

Is it possible to attend a community college so that I can transfer into BSN program.

Do college transcript need to be in a stamped/sealed envolope. Or can it be opened.

The instruction is suppose to be your friend but it is very vague to the things to be considered in between.

Anyone's help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Thanks!

Hello, I am a recent MECP selectee; you will need a provisional letter of acceptance for your pacakage and a final letter of acceptance NLT, than March of 2010. My experience is that nursing schools will offer you a provisional if you meet the criteria in their selection process. Ask to speak to the VA rep or check see if they have a military branch. Explain your situation do not be shy, do not give up if this is something you really want. Express yourself in such a way the university or college will understand what you are going through, trust me someone cares! May I ask what state are in? Maybe I can offer some reccomendations as to where you should apply? Are you willing to re-locate to unniversities that will accept you? How far are you will to go?

Your transcripts can be opened, however get your admin office to stamped them certified to be a true copy. Your package must be neat and present well!!! That is all you have, because they cannot physically see you. Spend a lot of time ensuring that you package is perfect!!!! I welcome any more questions that you or anyone may have?

Finally!!!!!!
Someone that has been through the process. Thanks for replying back. I have my package together and my board is on the 25 Aug. So I really nervous about it. Wish me luck.

Now, the hardest part of it is getting the schools to do just the provisional/conditional letter of acceptance. They like don't care. They tell me I have to just wait until the nursing application pool opens which usually isn't until October. This is the earliest for most schools.
No one will look at what I have completed so far. I even talked with the director Ms. Kemp and she gave me schools that she knows have accepted people from Mecp and I call and talked to the director at the school that deals with the MECP applicants and he even told me no that they can't even do the conditional/provisional.

If the schools that deal with the program are telling me no then who will?

There is one school, that I am hoping will just do the conditional letter. Im praying. Im stationed in Washington state. I have looked at schools across the country and I am finding little luck or help. So any suggestions would really help.

Thanks alot.

How far along in your program and what school are you in?
