About a year and a half ago, I went to my doctor complaining of not being able to focus...anxiety. He prescribed me Lexapro which is an anti-depressant. Needless to say, I took it for about 2 weeks and stopped. Chose not to take it for two reasons. 1. I'm not a fan of taking medication. 2. This was an anti-depressant, and I wasn't depressed. ocus returned...no anxiety. Is this going to present a problem should I choose to move forward and go through MEPS, etc. ? As I mentioned, it's been well over a year and a half. Thanks !

You will have to report treatment for anxiety (SSRIs such as Lexapro are often used for anxiety also). The reason you did not recieve any benefit is because you stopped the medication against medical advise, it takes 4-6 weeks to recieve benefit from an SSRI. If you were not a fan of medication you should have went to therapy insteadWink

I'm not saying I didn't recieve any benefit. Of course I didn't give it long enough as I'm aware it takes several weeks to get in your system. What I was saying was, I stopped the medicine after two weeks because I felt it may have been a rush to judgement by the doc to immediately recommend medication vs. other avenues. (figured I'd try it out of doctors advice). Since I stopped the medication (after the initial two weeks), I've never had any focus issues or anxiety and it's been well over a year. What will they request from me at MEPS? Medical records....a report from the doctor saying the patient discontinued the medication, etc. ?

You will need to provide copies of all your treatment records, which hopefully the doctor stopped the medication. However, it sounds like you stopped on your own which won't help with the waiver. Get an update from your doctor and see what happens.
