Im a HN getting ready for a IA deployment to kuwait and I was wondering if anybody who has been there recently can let me know what kinds of things to expect.
Was there in early 2007. You'll either be at Camp Arifjan, Camp Buehring, Camp Virginia or Camp KNB/SPOD (where I was). It's hot, but it's nothing like Iraq. It's the hottest of the two, though. It was 154 in August. No hostiles really, though always be on the alert. My IA training was at Ft. Jackson, SC. I wouldn't trade anything for the training that I got there.
In-country, you'll work at one of the TMCs, or the main tent hospital at Camp Arifjan. You'll probably enjoy your time there. You will be offered R&R in Qatar.
