I have called Millington, TN and St.Louis to retrieve my medical records. They both said they do not show them having any of my records besides personnel records. How do I find out where my medical records are, this is confusing since I thought the VA had those on hand.

Was that the VA office you called in St Louis, or the NPRC located there?

To maybe answer you question;
The practice of filing health records with the personnel record portion has been discontinued. In 1992, the Army began retiring most of its former members' health records to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The other services made this change on the dates shown below:

Navy--Discharged, retired, or separated from any component--January 31, 1994

Well experience tells me that you should start at the place that had them last.

I called St. Louis and Millington and NPRC. Well of those might be the same place, but the told me to call my old command. I did that, no records there either. So somehow my records went into lala land somewhere. I need those for my recruiter. Now what is next to do to try to retrieve them?

Your records are easy to miss file. they are filed by color and last 4 of the SSN. but it is easy for them to be st*** in between a record of a different color that was being shipped from your command to archives. for instance. if your record was in a pile with a blue record and yours was green... it could have been mingled in between the other record and enclosed in the wr**g color. So now the record is somewhere in the batch that left for archives. And the difficult thing is, will some pers** scann all the different colors to find your record is going to be **** to stimulate.

Well they told me earlier this week, they are going to do a physical search for them. If they do find them, how long does it take for those records to be sent to me'?

Depending on how long ago you separated your old command should at least be able to tell you who the sent them to.

I transferred reserve centers recently and my losing command sent my medical records to the VA instead of my new command. There is an online request form you can fill out with a signature fax follow-up. It took me about 2-3 months before I got it in the mail from the VA. I didn't actually get my record, just copies.
