OK, all you loadmasters, now's your chance to extol the virtues of your preferred airframe (or trash the other ones). What did you like about your particular craft and why?
|Life is tough,|
wear a cup!
I'm not a loadmaster but I can tell you I have rode on all three and there is nothing like the C-17.
Of course, my first love is the Hercules and I would love an opportunity to fly on the J model.
C-5, you will see the world...and break there too...on a regular basis.
C-17's..you will see the world..might do airdrop...stage out of Germany (and whine about it)
C130's..you will see the world..slowly. You WILL do airdrop in combat..and you will be on one of the coolest airplanes ever built. And you will be a TRUE TAC airlifter.
C-17's are doing more combat airdrops than C-130's.
I was a loadmaster on C-141, C-5 and C-130E and I can tell you there is no better aircraft than the C-141. Sure wish I was still on active duty so I could log some flying time on the C-17.
Right, but a lot of C-17 squadron's don't have an airdrop mission. So that's why he "might" airdrop...
Best part about being a 130 loadmaster is the chance of going to AFSOC and saying good bye to space A pax forever.
What a bunch of young wusses
How about C-47s, 123s, 124s, and 133s?
When a loadmaster had to work for a living
I totally agree. "Are we there yet"!!
