Put in for a remote, always worked for us in the good days, we put Korea down and usually got selected the next cycle around. Call MPC and talk to your assignments rep. or look at that list you have on the MPC system now liting the cycle turnarounds.
Can't answer your question, but I looked at your profile, and I applaud you for figuring out that at 24, you are STILL too young for a wife and kids...
...YES...get all the fun stuff out of your system NOW. Go travel the world, and take whatever overseas stuff you can get out of Uncle Sam. I've been around the world, and seen many places, but I've had a kid since I was 20 years old (I'm 31 now), so my experiences have been limited due to my responsibilities.
Take the first ticket to a country that speaks very little English, and remember, if it barks, don't eat it (it doesn't taste that good anyway).
Tharin- Managing our time off, like telling us when we can and can't work out. I really dispise being told I can't go work out after work because there's no PT monitor there to watch me, and that I have to go to the gym at a certian time to sign in to prove I did my PT so the gym person can see me.
Also, Why is it that they *the higher ups*, are willing to deploy people who don't want to go to the desert? I jsut got back in August, and I said I'd sign a waiver and go in November because I really want off this base. IS there any way I can get the waiver signed? Because I really want to deploy again, or get off this base.

I can't help you w/ the waiver thing ... but the way I read the new PT AFI is that their MUST be a PTL present while conducting group PT (like schedule Sq PT sessions), but does not govern when where and how much you go to the gym on your personal time. As for signing in at the gym ... they have started a kiosk thing for everyone to sign in to when they go in the gym. As of yesterday they haven't made it mandatory to use yet ... or maybe I ignored it and walked by. Either way, I believe the gym is just doing what they can to see when their facility is being used the most w/ the kiosk.
As far as getting off station (I'm sure you've already done this, but...), be sure to update your "dreamsheet" w/ worldwide remote 1st and then procede to add in what's available on AMS web ... and of course make sure you add in there what countries you would actually like to go to.
Lastly, visit MPF/CSS and apply for a BOP. Depending on how long you've been at the Rock you should qualify for a BOP. But then again, BOPs are much harder to come by w/ folks homesteading at the good spots.
May have a good chance to go to Dover by the summer ... little bird told me that their work load will increase soon.
No definatly not. By the way 2T2, have you heard what happened to one of our airmen involving a motorcycle in Memphis? If not, I'll PM you the story about it.
Went to Memphis, bought a motorcycle. Was wearing all his PPE, coming back to the base, and crashed into one of the barriers on the highway in Memphis.
Broke his Femur and had a few scratches. Spent like 3 weeks in the hospital, and tricare not paying his bills because he had no motorcycle training.
Ouch. That sucks. At least they are relatively alright. It could have been MUCH worse. Anyone I know (don't give name here).
I can't say I object with the legal decision, though. Anyone even REMOTELY interested in motorcycles has to have been living under a rock for the last few years to not know how serious the DoD is getting/has gotten about motorcycle safety. It's not just here at Little Rock. I've heard of this happening in other occurances. IT really sucks that they had to find out how serious they were this way, but as I already said, at least they still have the CHANCE to find out how serious this is.
I don't know if you were here or if you remember, but a few years ago we had a Flight member decide to have a few beers down in the River Market and ride his Sportster back to base without a helmet. He didn't even make it up the on-ramp before he went down. He was relatively alright, save for some cuts and bruises. He got some paperwork out of it. That's about it. It was rumored that he was going to be responsible for his own bills, but that never came about.\
Kinda makes you wonder who makes all these decisions, and what exactly they base them off of, ya know...?

Now I'm asking because I noticed the outdoor rec folks been talking about getting Quads.
That is truth, at least at this station. The new AFI came out after my accident, so I honestly don't know if there are any "official" regs pertaining to ATV's. I know that here, however, if you have ATV riding on your 410, you have to have gone through the ATV training course which is offered infrequently here on base. No completion, no ATV. I know it was in the local reg as an order from the Wing CC. The tenant units CC's were in compliance for their folks, as well.
The line-of-duty determination was dependent on having a filed 410 and proof of ATV course completion. This really ruffled feathers as many people in the Flight had ATV's and now had to scramble to get in these classes. Orders were that the ATV's were to be parked until completion of training. And, as I said, classes were few and far between and hard to get into. I think we only had one certified instructor at the time. I honestly don't know if that has changed in the year and a half since I've been out of the loop.
Again, I will have to inquire as to if this is now AF or DoD policy, but you are definitely correct that it is going to happen if it hasn't already.
I have no idea how Outdoor Rec would work having ATV's. That's just a Safety slide show waiting to happen...
