You will be in my unit, the 87APS. You should be done with training and drilling by the time I get back from Iraq. Workload on drill weekends is feast or famine, your either so busy you dont have time to **** or you are bored to tears. LOTS of training, CBT's, vehicle ops, etc... Focus on getting your OJT done ASAP! We recently had our CO, 1Sgt, and Chief all retire the same day, so our identity is changing up a little. We do AT's at some seriously sweet spots and are a good unit. Only a couple of turds in the punchbowl Wink

Ok so your 2t2 as well? Ya I'd like to get the OJT done asap.. currently i'm unemployed due to company closing.. Is it easy to get more drill time then just the mandetory? As far as the At's yes i reas an article when u guys took over a base in hawaii..

I'm a lil worried about pushing through BMT but i look forward to coming down and joining up at the base.

Until the 4th AF comes up with some more cash you can forget any extra AT's or UTA's. There are LOTS of TDY's right now though and a ton of jobs on base available if you would be willing to relocate.

Worst assignment of my life. After coming from a combat outfit I couldn't stand being associated with desk jockies who had not been outside of the CONUS or AFMC.

It amazed me how some were promoted and I saw decorations handed out like business cards.

The area was ok since I lived in Beavercreek but too many people out of work and Dayton was a ghost town in need of a broom.

Thank God for a former boss and his need for specialized help on a project overseas. That was the ticket to leave what I call "Wright-Patterson, Home of the Butt Brigade!"

I graduated from B'creek High School and went to college at WSU so I know the area well. If your single, its not the best place for ladies unless you go to one of the universities (which is heavy in female count)....Oregon district is fun for bars and so is The Greene....There is a good amount of things to do if you know where to go....

^^ Roll Eyes to the response above true the majority of WPAFB is civilians and what you call "pencil pushers" howeve they are also the ones who give us our new weapons platforms which in the end provide you a job Wink

Three'n'one...there's an A, B, and C section to the Base. Plenty of amenities. You're centrally located to Indianapolis, Toledo, Columbus, and Cincinnati. The area of Dayton is still depressed, but there's revitalization going on. No reason to be bored.

WPAFB Calls Stand-Down To Discuss Suicides
Posted: 10:54 am EDT May 1, 2009

FAIRBORN, Ohio -- Officials at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base are taking the rare move of planning a day for airmen to talk about suicide prevention instead of performing normal duties.

Base spokesman Daryl Mayer says the one-day "stand-down" scheduled for Tuesday, follows four deaths in six months.

Mayer says two deaths were apparent suicides, and two others under investigation occurred in similar circumstances.

The most recent death was Monday, when the body of an active-duty airman was found in her dormitory room.

Commanders call the rarely used stand-downs to highlight important issues to airmen under their command.
