I leave June 16th for BMT so as long as everything is on track I should be heading to Tech school @ Lackland around Aug. 17.. Just wanted to get an idea how Tech is for 2t2's??
But, hey...at least you can look forward to 12 hour shifts on midnights when you get out of school to "learn ya up right". (not 1st hand knowledge, mind you...just the "hearsay" I've picked up along the way)
I have spoken to quite a few 2T2's that actually like their job quite a bit, so there is hope for you after school...after you pay your dues, that is.
Tech school is a lot of book work like the other posters said. A lot of information in a short amount of time. You will get all of your "real" training when you get to your unit. All hands on of course up front. I am a 2t2. The career field has a lot of ups, as well as some downs. As you progress, there is cool stuff you get to do in this career field. It is one of those that you can definately be a laborer for a long time, but then there is the opportunity to use your brain as well. Good luck.
