After having a 40% disability "awarded" to me after 20 years of tearing up my body to "do my job"; I wound up walking into the Veterans Clinic in Homestead Florida a couple of years ago for an appointment with someone due to pain I was having in my neck and shoulders (and still am). I was told that I didn't qualify since I worked for a local power plant. When I joined the Navy, my recruiters showed me documents that said that if I retired, I would be covered for life medically. They forgot to mention that I would have to pay for medical coverage and yet, still be denied healthcare, even if I had disability.

I kinda am a little unprofessionally pissed about this.

Why don't you use your TriCare Insurance? That's what it's for.

Times have changed.....Congress decided not to allow full medical for career veteran's.....but does allow instead TriCare Insurance beneefits for retired veteran's and their families.

Yes there are copays, an annual premium and like most medical Imsurance plans......a limit to annual coverages.
