So i just spoke with an Air national guard recruiter today, and everything was going good until we had to talk about my waiver. I had been charged when i was 16 with Paraphernalia (which you need a waiver, and 3 letters of recommendation) Criminal mischief(no waivers required) and possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. The last one was dismissed because It was completely made up by the officers, and when i talked to the prosecutor and told her that, they knew they had no evidence there, and dismissed it before i even went to court. Now the ANG recruiter said that even tho it was dismissed it falls in the same category as the paraphernalia, and i couldn't get 2 waivers so i couldnt join. What i'm asking is if any ANG recruiters know if this is true, and any other information about it. I'm kinda ****ed now, as it happened more than 3 years ago and ive put it behind me, and Ive been trying to join the ANG , AFR for a while with no luck because of this waiver crap. I just want to be a pilot in the air force someday, and although i know its a hard road, and very selective, i just want the Opportunity to do it. I really want to be a pilot in the air force, but with all this crap going on, I might as well join the marines, or navy because i hear their recruiting is a little more lax.
