I'm trying to figure out my options and am wondering if a hardship discharge is even one for me, here's my situation:
I've been in the guard for 2.5 years. My ETS is the end of 2012. My now husband is active duty Army and we are getting ready to pcs cross-country for the second time in a year. I've now been a part of 3 different state guard units, and if I did another state-to-state transfer this would be my fourth unit in 2.5 years. My husband plans on making a career out of the military and thus, it is just not conducive to me being in the guard. I don't feel it is fair to the unit or myself to keep moving so frequently and constantly. What are my options, and is a hardship discharge an option for me? I really don't want to do another transfer; I've been a part of my current unit for only 6 months. The reason for the quick PCS is that his deployment got canceled. Any help or advice is appreciated.
