Not hard. Very easy process. You must request a conditional release via a DD Form 368. Explain to your supervisor you are relocating to another state and would like to continue your service in your new home state in a unit close to home. You will have to attend all your drills at your unit (unless you have arranged for an alternative to fulfill your monthly drill obligations). The process takes a few months.

You don't need a DA 368 unless you are leaving the ARNG for another component. Usually your unit can give you the information to contact the IST coordinator in either your current state or the new state you are going to. This is one of the few types of transfer that you don't really need your units permission to do but it will be a quicker and easier process if you let them know you are moving out of state. If you have already relocated, contact the unit you are planning to drill with or find the new states IST coordinator. You can generally get the contact information for the IST coordinator from the state's military affairs website.

You are correct dpareickmiller. You do not need a DD Form 368 to do an interstate transfer. I mistakenly wrote that. You provide a good answer to olderandwiser's question. Good luck to you both.

I am a 13F and I moving from NC to Ohio and I have been trying to get a listing of 13F slot throughout the state. Does anyone know where I could get a breakdown of MOS's at each NG Armory? Please help because my current unit is not dong much to assist.

Only Ohio will have that information. Find their NG web-site (Mr Google can help you) and give their recruiting command a call.

Find a local recruter to where you are moving they will have the best info for you. They can tell you what units need your MOS and how close they will be to your new home and get you into contact with the IST cordnate. Do not worry you will have 90 days to find a new unit once you get to OH. The longest part is finding an officer to swear you into your new state.

I've done it twice, and each took less than a week.

My longest IST was my first one and it took me over 6 months but lousiana kept lieing to me telling me that they would take care of everything. I have had 4 more ISTs since then and they have taken a day to 3 weeks to complete.
