Okay, I enlisted 20 Sept 2006 and went to BCT on 1 MAY 07. Completed BCT on 14 JULY 07 and went to AIT in Fort Huachuca for 96U/35K UAV Operator Training. Completed AIT and IET on 14 FEB 08. Finally, I received my enlistment bonus on 8 APR 08.

After I completed IET, I came home and was told that my unit was disbanding and I would either have to get a new MOS and go back to training, or Drill in another state. Neither of these options were something I wanted to do. Now I'm trying to go active.

Before I go active, how long do I have to wait before I don't have to pay my bonus back to the Guard? I'm getting mixed answers varying from "You have to wait 6 months after you get the bonus" or, "You have to wait at least 6 months after you complete IET." I would ask my recruiter these questions, but I already have, and he hasn't called me back. Also, neither of his phone numbers are working anymore.

It might be a good idea to look for a new recruiter. I'm not sure how long you would have to wait to keep your bonus though. I have heard that you can pay it back in instalments. And depending on what MOS you go active as you might qualify for a different bonus.
Good Luck
