DH is at Basic. I just looked up on MY PAY to see his first check. I am a bit confused on something and was hoping that someone could clue me in.

Here are the deductions listed:
FICA, State Tax, SGLI, Debt Payment, SGLI Family/ Spouse.

Now I understand what all are except the Debt Payment. It was $320.50 which is a big chunk. There is nothing list to say what that debt payment consists of. Is that something that I should expect out of every check or is that one of those first check deductions?

Sounds like the one-time pay advance he received in order to buy his local need type items: shower, shave, & laundry supplies, haircuts, running shoes and other such personal needs. This advance is a normal while at Basic.
