Can anyone tell me how promotion works for SGT/SSG in the AGR? Do you have to go to the promotion board like Active Duty or is it like the Guard/Reserves and you just put in a packet? Thanks.

I think boards are held only if there is lots of competition for the slot. I was sent an email to accept or decline a ssg position, because I was the only e5 25b, I seen one of my buddies get e7 and e8 without going to any boards.
