I`m waiting on a cholestrol waiver for the ANG,been waiting since Feb.I know the Guard is overmaned now and no longer giving felony waivers, but is that being extended to medical waivers too? MEPS said I was a little over 200 but when my Doctor check`d it a week latter it was around 160.My Recruiter figured it`d be no problem with the waiver, but still no word.I was thinking maybe I`d hear something in Oct. for the new fiscal year, but thought I`d ask on this forum in case someone else knew anything. My Recruiter said none of her medical waivers have come back.
this is something i might have to get waivered as well. so far my recruiter said everything is good on my physical with 1's across the board. i have a history of high cholestrol in my family.i've been eating alot of cheerios/oatmeal and laying off the good foods.
i might be in the same boat with you on getting a waiver approved. its just crazy how you have to wait this long for a waiver to get approved
The part that bugs me is i`ve never had a cholestoral problem it`s always been low.The week before MEPS I went on a low carb diet to make sure I made weight.I thought I was a few pounds over,it turns out I was 6 pounds under.I also made tape,I lift weights alot.Maybe that messed up my numbers.
it could also be that bomb breakfast you ate at the hotel the day of meps. i kno i pigged out on sausage, eggs, toast. i had like 10 to 12 sausages, plus the bacon. that grease could of upped your cholestrol that morning. i sure hope im fine, so far my recruiter has said everything is fine.
if i have to give blood again for cholestrol, im going to make sure i fast the night before. no eating for 12 hrs till its time to give blood.
heres hoping that we both are good on the cholestrol man. i just might be in your shoes with getting a waiver.
