Hello to all. Im a 34 y/o guy and have been seriously thinking about joining the military.,the national guard I think would be best for me, but Im clueless about a lot of things,please forgive my Ignorance,but that is why Im here ,to get information. Can anyone tell me what happens after you join the national guard?I mean I know you need to go to Basic training, but what happens then?How long does basic training last?Do they teach you how to use weapons? DO u get to choose a career that maybe could pursue in the future? Do you get deployed somewhere?what if you like it a lot better than you thought, can you go from the guard to active duty in the army?besides the 2 times a month, can you put more time in?Is it easier than full active duty? And more important am I too old to join? Thanks in advance for any information You can give me.
