I had tried to enlist about 6 months ago when there was a 20,000 signing bonus but was unable due to a surgery that I had. My recovery time has now passed and I got back in touch with my recruiter to find out that they no longer are giving out bonus' of any kind. My question is now that it is a new fiscal year what are the chances that they might offer some sort of bonus for enlistment and is there a website around that is updated on the changes going on in the National Gaurd? I am from Minnesota if anyone could let me know that would be great.

Regardless of the new fiscal year the guard will probably not give out any bonuses due to strength factors such as being over strength. Bonuses are used to sweeten the thought of joining when numbers are down, but seeing how the numbers are bordering over strength that means little or no bonuses. Recruiters are being cut down sized as well. I would consider joining as a career and and for pride and not think about getting a bonus to join. Hope this helps.
